SEED Malaysia, formerly known as Pusat Bantuan Khidmat Sosial (PBKS), was founded in 2007 in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. In April 2014, PBKS underwent a significant transformation and rebranded itself as Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kebajikan dan Persekitaran Positif Malaysia (SEED).
SEED is a community-led Civil Society Organization (CSO) dedicated to addressing the needs of key populations, including the homeless, people living with and affected by HIV, and the transgender community. With over 30 years of experience, SEED empowers these vulnerable groups through comprehensive programs and initiatives.
Operating with a team of 14 employees and a 7-person Board of Directors, SEED’s Executive Committee (ExCo) plays a vital role in guiding its strategic direction. SEED maintains physical offices and a Drop-In Center in the Klang Valley, serving as crucial hubs for delivering services and fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
Looking forward, SEED aims to promote coherence, sustainability, and collaboration within the humanitarian and development landscape, particularly in response to the challenges posed by the pandemic. By fostering complementarity, coordination, and long-term partnerships, SEED strives to enhance the effectiveness of its programmatic interventions and organizational activities.
